George, a descendant of a traditional family, lives under the guardianship of his uncle Nikiforos and aunt Elpida, and his future prospects are bright. One day, he meets Argyroula, an orphan girl who sells flowers in the city center. He falls in love with her and wants to marry her, regardless of their social differences.
